Fellowship

Laid Back Summer Vibes

Once again, we thank those that have assisted in our Fellowship coffee hours. As we previously reported, we have wrapped up our traditional 10 am coffee hour. The special strawberry coffee hour that followed the Children’s Day service on the 31st of May was the last coffee hour in the Upper Hall.

Over the summer months (June through August), we will be having “pop-up” coffee hours in the Narthex after both the 8am and 10am services. Coffee and tea will be provided by the church. We need folks to bring a small treat to share at these coffee hours. For those interested in bringing a treat to the 8 am service coffee hour the sign-up is located on the table in the Narthex. If you prefer to bring a treat to the 10 am service coffee hour, that sign-up, with QR code, remains on the table outside the Upper Hall.

Although the summer months are “laid back”, we are excited about the fall events we have planned. The first event will be our Parish Picnic planned for Kickoff Sunday on September 13, 2026. That is the Sunday after Labor Day. Parishioners have always enjoyed this event and we anticipate this one will not disappoint…don’t miss it. We feel that this event is a great time for fellowship and look forward for all to attend.

We are also working on a completely new event for this fall. We will also host a “Wine and Cheese Book Review”. Fred Reinhardt has introduced us to a book by Peter Kreeft titled Between Heaven and Hell: A Dialog Somewhere Beyond  Death with John F. Kennedy, C. S. Lewis and Aldous Huxley. In a fictional dialog among these men, this book examines their beliefs on life after death.

We will continue that examination and discuss their contemporary personal implications. Expect lots of discussion during this get together! More details on the timing and the distribution of copies of the book will be coming in the near future.

The Adult Dinner will also be the focus of our attention this summer. As you know, these have typically been themed events. What will be the theme? When will it happen? Great questions…stay tuned. There will be much more to follow on this.

So, sit back, relax and enjoy those sunny days and summer vibes because we will have a lot to do and share in our fellowship this coming fall. As usual, we count on you and invite everyone to make your mark on one of these events. Now is your chance. Please contact Mary Lou Mancini at mlmancini55@gmail.com, or Nancy Moore at neemoore@yahoo.com. We’re waiting to hear from you. Join us in our efforts to keep you engaged in our church social life.
