“The Snow and Me…Both Moving On”
Well…let’s hope the snow is moving on! We were hit hard enough that we had remote service…now that’s snow! Fortunately, with thanks to members of the Property Committee, the sidewalks were soon cleared and service got back to normal by the next week.
As you probably know, this is my last Piper Article because I am “moving on.” I am leaving my position as the Vestry member responsible for buildings and property. It has been my honor to have served the church in this role. We tackled quite a few large issues in my three years and I believe that the sustainability of our church is better for having met those challenges as we did. I was blessed to have the support of Reverend Ben and so many of the Vestry and staff members, as well as a group of volunteers. I am leaving this responsibility in the hands of Nick Favorito and I am confident that, with your continued support, he will do an exceptional job. I will be meeting him soon to officially effectuate the transition.
In closing, as I have said in every other Piper article I have written, if you see something that needs attention, please let me, Nick, or Rev’d Ben know. If you’d like to be available to lend a hand in our work to keep our old church young, let us know about that too. There’s always an open spot on the Property Committee.
Regards and farewell,
Ken Mancini
