“Snow Job”
The weeks leading up to the preparation of this report were fairly uneventful from a property
standpoint. I installed coat hooks in the restrooms, we had an inspection and battery replacement in our security system, and we had a follow-up cleaning of leaves performed by the Boy Scouts…another shout out to them is well deserved.
Then it snowed…and our usual snow plow contractor is retried from plowing. To make this more interesting, the day the snow impact was at it worst was the night of our wonderful “Lessons and Carols” service. It was a challenging night for walking in our parking lot, to be sure. But we managed! So, the “Snow Job,” i.e., that associated with plowing the snow from our lot, and shoveling/salting the walkways, needed a new contractor. After a bit of a search, we found one who would commit to being here to clear the walkways and parking lot before the church service or business days start. We are monitoring the performance. Based on his performance during this recent ice storm, he’s been on site on time. I believe that level of response will continue…let’s all hope so.
In closing, if you see something that needs our attention, please let me know. If you’d like to be available to lend a hand in our work to keep our old church young, let me know about that too. There’s always an open spot on the Property Committee.
Regards,
Ken Mancini
