“Christmas Break”
We have been blessed with a December that has had very little to report in terms of work needed at the church. Of course, there is the usual spate of burned-out bulbs and minor plumbing issues, but, thankfully, 2024 ended with an uneventful month from a building perspective. I consider that our “Christmas break.”
The winter weather however has reminded us that we need to be on our toes about keeping the walkways clear of snow and ice. To that end we have had 200 pounds of ice melt salt delivered. One hundred pounds are in a large light blue trash can near the door to the office wing. Another 100 pounds are in a new black storage box near the sanctuary doors. As the Vestry member in charge of property, I make every effort to be sure the snow is shoveled away and walkways are salted. I would encourage anyone who sees a need for shoveling or salting to reach out to me immediately. In the meantime, please use the handrails on the steps and walkways when navigating suspect areas.
If you see something that needs our attention, please let me know. If you’d like to be available to lend a hand in our work to keep our old church young, let me know about that too. There’s always an open spot on the Property Committee.
Regards,
Ken Mancini
