“Taking the Summer Off”
Just like many of us, our buildings seemed to have taken a bit of time off from the glitches and issues that occur the rest of the year.
Only two issues arose that needed repair. The first was a failed light fixture in the restroom by the Sacristy, that has been replaced and is now working properly. The second repair issue that arose was a leaking outdoor faucet by the Community Garden. We are in the “watch and wait” mode with that because the only use it gets is to water the Community Garden when needed. With cooperative weather we may net need too much more water from this faucet. I will report on this if it needs further attention in a future Piper article.
As a measure to prevent unexpected water damage in our buildings we will be installing a water and leak monitoring system. This equipment, sanctioned by the church insurer, will alert us vis cell phone if there are any system failures that might cause damage to our building water or HVAC equipment.
If you have any comments or suggestions about our property or buildings, or if you’d like to lend a hand on a project, I’d love to hear from you.
