Garden Planting
Alongside peas, Swiss chard, and a few other cooler-weather crops, the spinach has officially been planted in the Community Garden beds next to the parking lot here at St. Andrew’s. With the guidance of Jeff Herrera and the aid of a few wooden chopsticks, the Sunday school classes planted 3 beds of spinach for the Chester County Food Bank. Even though the rain never completely stopped, a little misting and a little mud on the knees did
not stop our little gardeners. Thank you to Jeff for getting the beds prepared, and several youth volunteers for coming out to make this such a fun and memorable time. We encourage you to stop by and take a look at all the hard work that goes into this community outreach effort, thanks to Jeff and the Outreach Committee. Also, consider watering our garden this summer to help keep the plants happy and healthy while they grow. See you in the garden!
Holy Week
From Palm Sunday through to Easter Sunday, St. Andrew’s was full of families for a variety of services and events to commemorate Holy Week. We proceed through the church proudly waving our palms, welcoming Jesus. Our amazing youth stuffed over 1,100 eggs for our annual Easter egg hunt. On Easter morning, everyone chipped in to hide all our eggs outside in the graveyard. Families then searched high and low to find all our eggs and went home full of sweets and fun prizes to celebrate Easter!
Thank you to the many hands that make this week such a success, especially our youth and families who diligently work to provide all the candy and prizes, not to mention the time to put them all together and hide them. We hope the your Easter continued to be joyful beyond our Easter services and activities, and look forward to to continuing to celebrate the Easter season as we move toward Pentecost.
Children’s Day
Please join us on Sunday, June 1, 2025 at the 10 am service to celebrate Children’s Day here at St. Andrew’s. Children of all ages will be providing the day’s service from when you are welcomed by our greeters, through the service with the prayers, readings, the sermon, all the way to the end, with our songs and ushering. We will begin preparing for Children’s Day during Sunday school throughout the month of May. We look forward to celebrating with you!
