Rector's Warden

A big thank you to our staff and volunteers for the work and effort involved with a wonderful Holy Week in April. From the choir, to altar guild, to Outreach volunteers, to Fellowship volunteers, to our Verger, to our lectors and LEMs, to our greeters and ushers, to our children and youth project volunteers, to our volunteer teachers, to our Vestry, and to our staff – we appreciate you! Holy Week and all the opportunities for our community to worship and engage takes a lot of preparation, logistics, and extra endurance to which we are grateful.

Highlights (April)

  • Holy Week Services: Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Easter Vigil with special reception, and Easter Sunday with Egg Hunt after the 10am.

  • Outreach: Bridge of Hope Easter Dinners for 10 families in need

  • Outreach: Lenten Children/Youth Service Project - Operation 143 Backpack Program

  • Our first community Open Mic Night for musicians. Our next event will be May 19th.

  • Adult Christian Formation: Episcopal 101 Series

  • Brickside Grille, Sunday Brunch Partner – 15% of proceeds for meals on 2nd Sundays of each month.

  • St. Andrew’s Garden – bed prep and planting, kicking off with our youth workers and Jeff Herrera.

Opportunities

  • Ascension Feast Day: Combined congregational service at St. James’, May 29

  • Spring Cleanup – May 3. Be on the lookout for volunteer signups and join us for much needed help to beautify the church grounds. The more hands, the lighter the load, and it’s fun to work outside together.

  • Children/Youth Day at St. Andrew’s – June 1! Rev’d Ben gets a break as our younger population serve in various ways at our service, including the sermon.

  • Mark your calendars for Vacation Bible School: July 21-24, 9am-noon. Reach out to Kristy Campagna for information, volunteer help, and sign-ups.

Dependencies (items that impact our ability to accomplish opportunities/goals)

  • Volunteers - We need you! Please consider upcoming events to lend a helping hand. If you need any guidance to align your gifts/passions to volunteer efforts at the church, just ask Rev’d Ben or a Vestry member.

  • Reminder to keep up with financial pledges, your gifts are important to the sustainability of our programs. Thank you!
