Easter Meals
Thank you to all who contributed to the Bridge of Hope/Good Samaritan Easter Dinner! 10 families in need will now receive groceries to make a full Easter dinner. And a special thank you to Tiffany Zuch, who has coordinated this meal, as well as Christmas and Thanksgiving meals in the past. With the Zuchs having moved out of the area, we would welcome a volunteer to coordinate one or more of these three meals going forward, beginning in November. If interested, please contact me.
Thank you also to our youth group and Family Ministry for their efforts this Lenten season gathering food donations.
Last but certainly not least, many thanks to Christine Whaley and all who contribute, month after month, to feed those who stay at the Atkinson’s Men’s Shelter in Coatesville.
The Essentials Pantry
St. Andrew’s was pleased to welcome Deacon Dennis Coleman for coffee to introduce The Essentials Pantry after the 10AM service on March 1. The Essentials is not a food pantry per se, but rather a place that serves a weekly lunch, during which time those in need may choose items essential to get them through the week.
Visitors are welcome and encouraged to see the Pantry in action on Mondays at 11AM on the lower level of Christ Episcopal Church in Pottstown. I recently paid a visit and can say it is a fantastic operation! Customers in need check off a fixed number of items that they need from a list (the number and list vary per week, depending on what donations are in stock). They are then individually walked through the pantry and helped with their items; everyone that I met was very appreciative of the assistance that they received. A full hot lunch is also provided for those attending.
Please consider donating items to the pantry. Items can be dropped off in the Biddle Room or ordered directly from Amazon to be shipped to the Pantry coordinator.
