A Busy Autumn

Fall is a busy time for St. Andrew’s Outreach, with multiple activities in the months of October and November.

UNICEF: Halloween is a time when we think of costumes, hayrides and pumpkin spice everything. It also conjures up images of youngsters collecting candy and donations of coins with the greeting “Trick or Treat for UNICEF.” Our annual Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF coffee hour was held on Sunday, October 26th.

Good Samaritan Services/Bridge of Hope: St. Andrew’s will continue its support of Good Samaritan Services/Bridge of Hope for 10 families to have an entire Thanksgiving dinner with all the fixings. We are continuing with the $35 gift card to Giant or Walmart for the purchase of a turkey or meat substitute; we were told that there have been extra turkeys and many people receive their own turkeys from work or free from points, etc - this change was a good one last year. Please click here to sign-up to provide one or more items and drop them off in the Biddle Room or place them in the Vestry Room. Please make sure to clearly mark the bag with Bridge of Hope so the items do not get mixed up with our donations to the Coventry Food pantry. Please provide all items no later than Sunday, November 23rd. Thank you for your partnership as we spread our love out into the community. If you have any questions, please contact Tiffany Zuch at tiffanyzuch@comcast.net or feel free to call/text at 610-420-8751. Thank you!

Atkinson’s Dinner: Many thanks to everyone who contributes time and effort to the monthly dinners that St. Andrew’s provides to the Atkinson’s Men’s Shelter. Whether it’s cooking or delivering meals, know that the residents greatly appreciate the warm meal. Please keep an eye out for our next donated meal opportunity.

Coventry Food Pantry: St. Andrew’s collects food and personal items year-round on an ongoing basis for the Coventry Food Pantry, which serves over 100 families within the OJR school district. Please consider donating canned goods, cereal, and personal items (toothpaste, shampoo, paper products, feminine products, baby products, etc.). Items can be left in the Biddle Room.

Outreach Committee Meeting: The next meeting of the Outreach Committee is November 23, after the 10AM service. All are welcome! Among other items of business, we will plan our giving budget for 2026. This is a great opportunity to become involved in our community through St. Andrew’s.
