Our committee is delighted to be back in full force for the fall season! Our team has worked diligently to plan the upcoming holiday season and our subsequent outreach activities. Over this past month of September, we have harvested a collective total of 70 pounds of produce from our garden. Another special call of thanks to Jeff Herrera from stewardship for all of his leadership on the garden project.
Outreach also collected another trunk load of donations for the Coventry food pantry. I am pleased to announce that the pantry has a new renovated facility, and an updated list of most appreciated items. Please consider taking advantage of the bo-go sales when you shop – one can for you and one for the collection. The current list of needed items can be found in the weekly announcements.
In keeping with tradition, we served another full, hot meal to the Atkinson men’s shelter. I am truly humbled by the church’s dedication to our Atkinson neighbors. I look forward to many more hot meals in the years to come.
In a special effort to help our Phoenixville neighbors, outreach has taken up a collection for The Clinic. This facility graciously provides medical care, lab work, and counseling services to the uninsured. We encourage you to consider investing in the health of our community.
Looking ahead, I am eager to dive into a favorite time of year. As we look toward the birth of our Lord and feast with our friends and families, I am reminded of a favorite verse from John: “We love because he first loved us.” I wish a fall season full of family and Christ’s love to everyone in our congregation.
