Fellowship

Dear Friends,

We kicked off the year with our first Fellowship event of the season, the parish picnic on September 7th. Due to rain we had to move the event to the Upper Hall, but no fun was lost. We had about 60 people in attendance and an abundance of delectable side dishes and desserts to complement our main items of hamburgers and hotdogs. Many hands went into making this event a success, but special thanks go to Jeff and Dan Herrera, who were grill masters and cooked all of our food, and Meg Sebastianelli who was our fire pit and s’mores hostess. Thank you to all of the people of all ages who helped set-up and clean-up and bring dishes to feed us. I’m always amazed and grateful at the open hands and hearts that our parish has through our wonderful people.

Our Annual Adult Fall Dinner is going to be an Oktoberfest this year on Saturday, October 18th from 5-9 p.m. We are opening up our space to 60 fortunate guests who want to celebrate the season German style. The Upper Hall will be decorated like a Bavarian Oktoberfest tent complete with long beer hall styled tables and the colors of the Bavarian flag. We will have a German food truck that will be serving traditional German food cooked by a native German. The menu is posted on the bulletin board outside of the upper hall. The evening will be highlighted by an accordion player and beer and wine education by our resident experts, Jeff Herrera and Geoff McConnell. In addition to the food truck we will have Bavarian pretzels and appetizers, beer and wine, and authentic German desserts purchased from Haegele’s, a 4th generation German bakery located in Philadelphia. This is one event you will not want to miss. All food, drink and entertainment is included for $45pp and complimentary childcare is available. We will have souvenir beer glasses for purchase to remember this special night. To sign-up please visit our website and click on events. If you would like to dress in authentic German attire, I recommend a visit to Ernst Licht in Oley, PA for everything you need (click here). If you prefer to sign-up without the online link, please e-mail me at willandjuliasanders@comcast.net to place your reservation. Have questions? Contact me at 215-880-9405. I look forward to sharing this special night in fellowship with each of you. Prost!

Warm regards,

Julia Sanders
