“Taking More Heat…and Cleaning Up!”
As you may recall from my March Piper article, we had some persistent and annoying problems with the heat in the sanctuary. After we had that “fixed,” we had a recurrence of that problem. Thankfully, that second repair was accomplished more promptly. Despite some residual issues that caused temporary loss of heat in the Upper Hall and Smith Hall below, our heating system is back and functioning well…just in time for the Air Conditioning Season!
April is the time of year when we do some Spring cleaning. Our carpets were shampooed once again this year. Nancy Carroll volunteered to clean and vacuum the pew spaces and kneeling cushions…many thanks for that.
Finally, as mentioned in the March Piper, the Spring Clean-up is scheduled for Saturday May 3rd, from 9:00 am to noon. If that day is a washout, our rain date is the next day, Sunday May 4th, from noon to 3:00 pm. You are invited to join the members of Boy Scout Troop 220 and participate in a day that transforms the look of our grounds and flower beds. Sign up to be a Spring Clean-up volunteer online, or send me an email at kmancini@comcast.net.
If you see something that needs our attention, please let me know. If you’d like to be available to lend a hand in our work to keep our old church young, let me know about that too. There’s always an open spot on the Property Committee.
Regards,
Ken Mancini
