Programs at St. Andrew’s

We strive to create a warm and nurturing intergenerational
community where each member is connected to Christians of all ages. Many programs exist to support children and youth in their spiritual journeys. We invite you to journey with us!

The heart of our ministry to children/youth is our dynamic Sunday morning church school program. Classes are available during the school year for children/youth ages four through high school every Sunday at 10:00 a.m. (coinciding with our 10:00 a.m. worship service). Children join their parents in church midway through the service in order to receive communion.

We use the Cokesbury Deep Blue Connects  curriculum for ages pre-kindergarten through 4th grade. This curriculum is a comprehensive journey through the bible covering key bible stories while incorporating lessons about the major Christian seasons of Advent, Christmas, Epiphany, Lent, Easter and Pentecost. We put the fun into learning and utilize skits, puppets, crafts, games and other creative methods in our teaching.

Grades 5 and 6 use Sparkhouse Connect curriculum to transition into a deeper grasp of the Bible.

Our students in middle school, grades 7 and 8, use the “re-form” curriculum which explores faith and life issues relevant to middle school teens from a biblical perspective. And finally, the weekly lectionary is used as a jumping off point for discussion in our high school class, grades 9-12. Every other year a confirmation class is offered to those students in grades 9 and above.

Approximately three  times a year, all elementary children are invited to attend Junior Church in lieu of their regular Sunday school class. This provides an opportunity for multi-age fellowship as all children in 1st through 6th grade gather together for worship and celebration. We focus on topics not normally covered in the Sunday school curriculum such as stewardship and outreach. Children are given opportunities to put their faith into action through such activities as Trick or Treat for UNICEF and a Lenten service project.

Our Nursery room is available to families with children 6 months to 3 years! Parents are able to worship knowing their little ones are taken care of by a paid attendant, and their children can play, interact with church friends, and enjoy a snack during the 10am service.

We recently started offering more for Adult Christian Formation. This Lent we had a study of the history, doctrine, liturgy, and polity of the Episcopal Church. Then in Easter we studied the Revelation to St. John.  In the Fall we plan on offering more opportunities for Adults to sharpen their faith.

Do you like to read? Join St. Andrew's book club! Once a month, a group gets together to discuss readings from the current book of choice.

Prayer requests are sent by email to members of the prayer chain who have agreed to pray for parishioners and others in need.

Our Choir rehearses at 7:15 pm Thursdays and sings at the 10:00 am service during the school year.  They always welcome new members!

2-3 times per year Episcopal 101 is offered for those who are new / want to become members or simply desire a refresher.
